I knew before we started Lily would have some unique plans for her winter senior pictures. She always brings her own flair! When I saw the forecast I was disappointed but Lily was game for pushing forward and embracing the blustery day.

Lily is a fun combination of ballerina, bookworm, musical aficionado, Audrey Hepburn fangirl and hometown girl. Somehow she managed to put every ingredient of her personality into her winter senior session.

As much as I LOVE working with the sun, Lily’s mom and I both agreed that something about the gray day really worked for her.

She has had this idea all year to play around with a Funny Face theme for her custom session and the Lily version was perfect for downtown Rome, Georgia. We used the exterior of The Vogue on Broad Street and then flipped around to get the colorful facade of Broad Street.

I ask every senior 2 questions during the session design process (okay- more than 2 but you get it).

The first, do you plan to include any family or friends in your session? The second, what props do you have in mind for your session?

To the first question Lily answered “No”.

The the second there was a list that included balloons, books, pointe shoes, and Ashton.

I get so tickled that he was listed under props rather than people. But he should have been listed as my personal assistance because he toted all the props and moved the light stands and ran to the car for things left behind. Not to mention he made sure Lily’s blanket and hand warmers were in reach during every break. Everyone needs an Ashton at their winter senior session. Definitely wishing I had a BTS shot of him piled full of all our junk.

Clocktower Hill Senior Pictures

If I could convince every senior girl to include a formal dress in her session it would be amazing. This was from an event Lily attended in eighth grade and has always loved. It moved beautifully and the vibrancy brought so much color against the gray sky. We opted to stick with more neutral backdrops on Clocktower Hill so her dress could really pop.

Lily’s winter senior session ended at First Baptist Church in Lindale, Georgia where Lily has grown up. She put together the most fun outfit and pulled out some of her favorite books for props. She gave off some fierce Belle/Gaston vibes in these.
