I get asked often why you should have pro makeup for senior pictures. Today I’m going to tell you exactly why it’s always my recommendation.

First let me preface this with Joeleane is gorgeous with or without makeup. That’s not even up for debate. But she DID have pro makeup with Sydnie for her senior pictures so she gets to be the face of this post.

This is the Warm-Up

Your time in the chair will calm your nerves and get you comfortable. By the time you are in front of the camera we are laughing and you are more than confident to get started!

Customized to You

The pro makeup artists I work with pride themselves in customizing a look you will love.

You will still look like you! Promise. In fact my suggested artists always ask what look YOU, the senior, is going for. Do you want natural, a little glam, what’s your hair plan, etc?

Understands the final goal

At first glance your makeup may appear a little… extra. But trust her! She’s been at this for years and because I have worked with the makeup artists I recommend many times, they know what I need as a photographer, too.

Your makeup will be a little heavier than normal, but in the final images it will appear very natural.

How and why?

Because your skin will be (lightly) softened in the editing process which means your makeup will be softened right along with it.

Pop!

Eyelashes and lipstick are a BIG bonus for your portraits and I highly recommend them!

You can never beat a great lash shot and even a neutral lip 1-2 shades darker than your actual lip color will make a HUGE difference in your final image.

My day with Joeleane was HOT (thanks Georgia). But she is fresh faced and her makeup looks as flawless after 4 outfit changes as it looked when we began!
