This girl!!! It’s so hard to believe she is already a year old. We had the best time celebrating her with a smash cake session at Lawrence Plantation and she was full of personality for my camera.

I have had the honor of photographing Elyana since birth and it has been pure joy to watch her grow. Especially since our portrait sessions are the only chance I get to play with her without my own kids monopolizing her (or MY!) time.

Elyana, we are so thankful for the fun, giggles, and character you have brought us this year and we are even more excited for all the adventures you will bring in the years to come!!! You are just the best and we adore you!!!!

But let’s be honest- you are all here for the pictures, not the words. So let me go ahead and share those.

You know I am a sucker for simplicity so we skipped all the elaborate birthday set ups and embraced using the gorgeous summer scenery of Lawrence Plantation and let Miss ElyB take center stage.

In truth- she had much more interest in the leaves and sticks than she did with me and my camera!

I’ve truly never seen a child smash a cake so completely. I know for a fact the entire thing didn’t go into her mouth, but by the time she was finished the cake was obliterated with barely a few crumbs to show we were there.

Don’t we all want to eat cake with such abandon?
