There is something so uniquely fun about senior portraits. Maybe it’s the fact that seniors are EXCITED to have their picture taken? Especially Senior girls!

I love photographing families but I know most of those dads are dragging their feet, and over the whole experience before they make it out of the car- mainly because I’m married to one of those dads that tolerates family pictures but doesn’t enjoy the process.

But seniors are not like that!

I mean, look at Taylor. Isn’t she flawless? Can’t you see her excitement for what is to come?

I spent half the evening on a step ladder just so I could see eye to eye with her and the rest of the night making her sit down so I could be taller (short girl problems!). She is also unbelievably kind. We chatted about her younger brother and sister, her senior year plans, and her hopes for the future- but mostly, we talked about her dog!

And how fun that she came along for a few shots??

Yet another thing I love about Senior portraits- they allow each senior to tell a unique story. From including a beloved pet to a best friend, bringing along your tennis racquet or wearing a t-ball cap from your future college home, there are endless opportunity to use a portrait session to tell the story of your senior.

Taylor dreams of being a nurse. She hopes to go off a little ways to college- but not too far. She still wants to come home on weekends to hang out with her mom and little brother and sister.

But perhaps, what I loved most about this session, is the message I got from her mom after Taylor received her portraits. This beautiful girl told her mom, “Wow! I didn’t know Kate could make me look like this!”

Nothing makes my photographer heart happier than knowing I made my client feel as beautiful as I saw her.

 

Taylor- I hope your final semester of high school is full of memories with your friends, tennis championships, and hopes for immeasurably more than you could ask or imagine.
