Unlikely Places
Let me tell you what I love about Caroline. I get a text:
“I want you to take my senior pictures. How can I make that happen?”
“You just did! When do you want to do them and is there anywhere you have in mind?”
“Nope.”
And that was that! And it was so Caroline. She’s always been up for a challenge or an adventure and it’s part of what I adore about her.
I love the fact that she has complete trust in me when I say, “Well this is going to sound weird- but meet me at CrossFit. There is a wall there I just love!”
And when she pulled up I’m sure she was a tiny bit confused because it doesn’t look like anything special until the light hits everything juuuuust right- and then it’s amazing.
It’s possible her sister, Colbi, had to stand on a few weeds to hide them and {thankfully} everyone was wearing comfy shoes because I drug them on a small hike to find a bridge- but I could not love these portraits more.
Caroline is stunning and completely unassuming. Also- her leopard high tops made my life and I’m trying to figure out if they are acceptable for a 34 year old to add to her shoe collection.
Also- I’m sure I’m dating myself even further, but don’t the woods make you think of a scene from Twilight?
Welcome to Rome (Georgia)
A few weeks ago all these white trees burst into bloom all over town. After work and school I drug my own kids around town looking for the perfect place to take their pictures with the white blossoms. I found it at the Rome Visitors’ Center.
I’m pretty sure I haven’t been up there since I got married and I was blown away at how amazing this little corner of Rome is. I attempted pictures of my kids and they were completely disastrous because 1-March wind, 2- snack time, 3- no ponytail holders (windy day necessity for all 3 of my crew!).
My kids’ pictures aren’t anything to get excited about- but I learned one thing, no matter how disastrous your subject may be, the trees are absolutely photogenic.
So we left CrossFit and raced over to the Rome Visitors’ Center for sunset pictures and OH. MY. GOODNESS.
If you come to my house and see gorgeous pictures of a teenage girl that is clearly NOT MY CHILD– don’t be alarmed! It’s just Caroline and I can’t get enough.
We ended the night at Barron Stadium where Caroline spent her high school years cheering on the Wolves! I’ve always loved the fact that Barron Stadium is open to the community giving us the opportunity to include a little of the high school experience in Caroline’s portraits.
Caroline! Thank you so much for inviting me into your senior year. I can’t wait to see what the coming months bring for you!
And Romans- what other unlikely places do you see and think, “Man! We should take pictures here!” I want to know about it.
