A sentimental senior session will get me every time. Choosing locations to recreate photos from childhood and honor your primary school and ballet company? I am all in. And I will probably tear up a little just like mom!
Chetta may graduate from Rome High School but she spent many years driving Stretch Road to Berry Elementary. She has spent as many dancing at the foot of the cross for Rome Civic Ballet’s Footsteps In Faith recital.
She was so thoughtful planning her session to include both things she loves today and places that have nurtured her along the way.
How to plan a Sentimental Senior Session
Choose Locations Wisely
My number one tip for planning a sentimental senior session is to choose locations that have meaning for you. Two musts on Chetta’s location list: Berry College campus and her dance studio. Both locations are the setting to her childhood memories.
Recreate Favorite Photos
We’ve all seen photo re-creations on TikTok… and you probably ended up with a case of leaky eyes like me. But all moms love (and hate) to place photos of their babies sitting on the same steps 18 years apart or wearing an outfit similar to one they wore on the first day of Kindergarten. Recreating a favorite photo, pose or outfit during your senior picture session is guaranteed to add sentiment.
Include Sentimental Props and Posing
This may be two tips in one- but for me they go together. It’s easy to incorporate props into your session. But strategically posing you to use props naturally is the key to creating a sentimental senior session.
If you love Chetta’s senior session you should check out Charlie’s, too!
