Your goal is more than people like you- it’s appealing to YOUR ideal clients. This in studio brand photography session for Courtney, a virtual bookkeeper, was strategically designed to draw in the right fit clients for her niche. Dimetrac is a comprehensive bookkeeping service that helps successful business owners get back to why they started their business in the first place: the freedom to do what they want, when they want.

Branding session goals for a virtual bookkeeper
Courtney and I began planning from the pre-booking consult. She had a specific client in mind as we discussed the WHO of her session. She also wanted to inject her FUN personality into her in studio brand photography session.
While virtual bookkeeping may sound a little bland (spreadsheets, numbers, budgets, oh my!!) Courtney is ANYTHING but.
Goals for this brand photography session:
- appeal to trade industries
- showcase Courtney’s FUN personality
- hint at the “glamorous” work-from-home mom life

Branded images are possibly more important for virtual businesses than any in-person, brick-and-mortar business. The MAIN way your client interacts with you is online. As a service-based virtual business it is so important to consider the emotion you are trying to convey. You need specific images with your face and personality not just stock photos of computers, ledgers and coffee cups.
Courtney wanted potential virtual bookkeeping clients to feel excited, hopeful (and a little amused) when looking at these photos on Dimetrac’s website or social media pages.
Planning a brand photography session for a virtual bookkeeping service
Alongside Dimetrac, Courtney also has a TikTok account with inspiration for other work from home moms. She truly loves the opportunity to be at home working alongside her kids and is passionate about helping other moms understand this is an option for them as well. While planning her in studio brand photography session Courtney knew this storyline needed to weave through her session. It is common for her clients to hear kids and family in the background of calls. Producing images that could be used on Dimetrac’s website and social media alongside Courtney’s TikTok account to build audience trust was a main goal.

Dimetrac’s session was completed entirely in studio with 3 specific sets:
- a desk for a traditional office set
- colored backdrop that matched Dimetrac’s aesthetic
- lounge space to represent the home environment
Courtney’s session was heavy on props derived from existing website copy to support dialogue Courtney already infuses into conversations with clients.
Why your wardrobe matters
This element of a brand session is the most overlooked: wardrobe. Your wardrobe is your silent partner in developing a strong brand presence.
Courtney’s wardrobe was strategically chosen to:
- convey professionalism required in a virtual bookkeeper
- support the casual comfort required of a work from home mom.
Choosing colors that complemented or represented her brand colors resulted in cohesive brand representation across website and social media.
Maximum value for a 90 minute session was achieved by
- utilizing various backdrops
- moving within studio spaces
- 4 outfit changes

Courtney has a gallery full of images to showcase her personality and business. But what you really want to know is “How is Dimetrac using these images?”
Well, let me show you! (Or click over to Dimetrac’s website to see it all live!)
