Freshman Year Chronicle Team: Freshman Year Chronicle Team

Mar 21, 2022

You already know this. But the worst thing about working with seniors is that I only get them for 1 year before they leave me. I like to hold onto people longer than that and the solution seemed to be starting Freshman year. Which is why I am SO EXCITED to be introducing the inaugural Studio Kate Chronicle Team to you today.

It’s funny how we have ideas and think, “Who would want this?” and then we start receiving little affirmations along the way to take the next step. And sometimes we get major billboards telling us we are on the right path.

Which is what happened in my case when I received an email from a Freshman mama asking if I had ever thought of working with high schoolers before their senior year.

It was a “Here’s your sign” moment in the good way.

What is a Chronicle Team

I spent a few months tossing ideas around with my mentors, asking other Freshman mamas their thoughts, and developing a plan that would highlight the BIG moments that make up high school without taking away the significance of senior year.

The SK Chronicle Team begins with a group of 9th graders. Each year of Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year they will have an individualized session and a styled group session. The individualized sessions revolve around family, friends, and Sweet 16 while the styled sessions will take place during a different season each year. It’s a perfect complement to the Senior Company.

As always, when something is new I like to launch it softly into the world so this group is mini but mighty as we navigate the start of something new together.

Freshman Headshots at City Creamery

We met last week for an ice cream party at City Creamery followed by some headshots. It stormed all morning but the rain cleared just in time to enjoy the tulips downtown. I can’t get enough of them this year.

Since it was a student holiday the Walton Wildthings got to join me. They always want to tag along for sessions and this was a perfect opportunity. Although, I can’t say their endurance is exactly where we need it to be yet!

CHEERS to these freshman ladies that are even sweeter than they are stunning for loving on my Windthings and making them feel so special.

We may have only spent a couple of hours together so far but I am thrilled for what’s to come with the Studio Kate Chronicle Team and celebrating these beautiful ladies (and the one that didn’t make it!) for the next 3 years.
